One of the many adult triathletes Ron has coached (Fred Arden) has lost 105 lbs in two years. When Fred began his training he was not able to complete one lap in a 50 yard pool. Fred has improved tremendously over the past year, and this summer will swim 2.4 miles in open water , ride 112 miles on a bike, and then run 26.2 miles. He attributes his success to Ron’s inspiration and gentle coaching. Fred no longer has to see his cardiologist that he had to before he started his training.

Ron says his most important job and accomplishment is being the proud father of his three children and husband to his wife for 32 years.

Ron has taught, coached, and encouraged wellness students of all ages over the last 32 years, from kindergarten to graduate school, in a city school district (Washington DC), a small rural town, and a major university. His teaching and coaching has helped to improve the quality of life for thousands of his students.

"Both my wife and I were almost killed in an auto crash together 32 years ago. The opportunities my second chance at life has given me has made me one of the luckiest of people…ever."
